Living in 13 cities in 7 states by age 18, as a child I found stability in reading, from mystery to mythology, from Shakespeare to the backs of cereal boxes. Employment took me to kitchens, offices, bookstores, broom closets, emergency shelters and 12 years as a craft artist. And all the while, I’ve been writing. I live in Western Washington, near salt water and mountains. I rejoice in 2 children and 4 grandchildren, swimming and being a soccer hooligan with my husband, who inspires my romances both sweet and sexy. Many of my stories are set in the fictional Midwestern town of Oakville, where “people still know their neighbors, friendships last a lifetime—and gossip is a force of nature.” As Jade Max, I also write steamy romance.
