An English teacher in Greece, Ben, is troubled by the absence of his star pupil just prior to the exams that could change her life forever. As his concern grows, Ben starts to question the nature of her sudden disappearance. Ben starts to doubt those closest to him, as the community falls silent over the nature of her disappearance. Confronted with hostility and fear, Ben finds himself tangled in a complex web of lies and deceit as friendships are tested and loyalties shattered. As the revelations tumble out into the open, Ben finds the tables turned as he becomes the hunted. Ben finds himself plunged into danger as the lies just below the surface are exposed and his own motives are questioned by those who suspect and fear Ben in equal measure. As he looks deeper, Ben finds more questions than answers and comes to realize that some ties are stronger than blood and what lies at the end of his search may be more painful than he could ever imagine. Building to an intense climax built upon twist after twist, Ben comes to realize that when a community keeps itself hidden from the truth of a young girl’s disappearance, the first casualty is always innocence.
