Highwaymen, called “Knights of the Road” by local newspapers, continually preyed upon the Arizona & California (A & C) Company stage coach routes in central Arizona in the 1880’s.
Notorious “Bad Ben” Pullman persuades his law abiding teen-aged brother, Ed, to help him holdup an A & C stage carrying a large shipment of gold nuggets. The brothers recruit the help of an insider to ride as a passenger. There are three passengers on the the coach: a shady gambler, a young runaway girl, and the sophisticated wife of a soldier. Which one is the accomplice?
The stage guards, led by the resourceful Jim Banton, attempt to stop the robbery, but are thwarted by the passenger who is in on the outlaw’s plans. The resulting gun battle changes the lives of alls.
