Synopsis
Melody
Bennett’s parents trampled on her teenage romance with a drifter ten years ago.
He disappeared without a word of goodbyes on the night they had planned to run
away together. Since then, she cast aside her foolish notions of happily ever
after and worked hard alongside the hired help to care for the majestic horses
on her family’s beloved ranch. She refused to give love another chance and
resigned to live her life alone.
Max Fortaine
returned with a heart guarded by secrets and a sizable bank account
that took blood, prayers and tears to fund. The cowboy disrupted Melody’s
peaceful existence with stolen kisses and a promise for more. After a lifetime
of running, mistakes and regrets, he vowed to reclaim the only woman he ever
loved… if only her overprotective father didn’t stand in his way.
Excerpt
“Did you
ever love me? At least tell me the truth on that.”
Surprise
overshadowed the anger that burned in his eyes. “Yes, I did.
I’m sorry I made you doubt that.”
Her tight
control slipped and a tear slid down her face. Melody dug her nails into her
palms to regain control. “You owe me the truth.”
Max tunneled
his fingers through his spiky, dark blond hair. “I do, but I don’t want you to
hate me more than you already do.”
“I don’t hate you. I did a long time ago but I
forgave you.” She stepped back to give both of them breathing room. As it was,
all she could breathe in was his scent. She felt suffocated and strangely at
peace by it. “I’m happy, Max. My life is good. I missed you for a while but I
moved on. To answer your earlier question, no, I don’t have a boyfriend. I’ve
dated men after you, of course, but I’m single now. That’s my choice.” She
refused to tell him about her list of must-haves,
her criterion for potential love interests. Melody didn’t want him to know how
much his betrayal had affected her view on men and love. “Besides, I’m sure you
moved on to other women. I doubt a handsome man like you would have trouble
finding a new bedmate.”
He glanced
away and shifted his feet which confirmed her suspicion. She wrapped her arms
around her queasy stomach and walked toward a window. She peered through the
slats of the blinds but she didn’t see much of anything. “Do you have any idea
what it’s like to feel not good enough? Tell me why you left Willow Creek
without me. I don’t care what the answer is. I just want to know. I won’t hate
you for it.”
Author of Forever
Winter, A Hero’s Heart and Lightning
over Bennett Ranch, she published her first book in 2012 and plans to publish
countless more in the future. She lives in the beautiful foothills of North
Carolina with her punk-rocker husband and their five crazy kitties.
As a fan of contemporary, paranormal and historical
novels alike, she can’t get enough of feisty heroines and alpha heroes. Her
mind is a wonderland of romance and adventure, laughter and awesome ways of
kicking a guy when he’s down. She probably wouldn’t be too sane without her computer
and notebooks. After all, what’s a girl to do when there are people jabbering
away in her head and it’s hard to shut them up?
Write! Nothing
else works.
Best-Selling Author Tim Reed Releases his Exciting Novel “Spider From The Well”!
About Spider From The Well:
A man and his wife go on holiday in the New Forest, where they find old ruins and among it, a tattered diary. Intrigued, they begin to read, and are drawn into the tale of a bereaving man from the 19th Century, who has visions of a green sun and creatures clambering from the well outside his house. Slowly, as madness takes him, these cosmic visions intensify and he finds himself under siege; his daughter, pet cat and his independence are under dire threat, leaving him alone, afraid, and at the mercy of horrific, otherworldly invaders. He witnesses alternate histories of the world, grim futures, and at the end of all, a dreadful predator patiently broods – hoping to sate its hunger. What fate awaits the Victorian man?
Will the diary reveal secrets best left in dust? And what is the ultimate purpose of the green sun, looming over the Earth like an emerald?
About Tim Reed:
Tim Reed lives in south-west London, blessed with easy access to all the capital’s museums, galleries and theatres. He has been writing for a decade, at first as an extensive hobby, but in recent times he has had success in the short story field, having works published in both the UK and the States.
‘Running Free’ has been a constant in the higher reaches of Amazon Kindle downloads through 2011 and 2012, but it is in novels that he hopes to ultimately achieve. Work is almost finished on one such novel, titled Summons of the Majestic, which he hopes will peak agent and publisher interest in the young adult field.
Tim also has a sideline in freelance proofreading, which he has been practicing since 2008. Proofing helps his writing…and his writing helps his proofing. Further details of his proofing service are on the Proofreading Services page.
His current ‘pay the bills’ job is working as a Technical Author for Portcullis Computer Security Ltd. There, he pores over reports, tweaking and editing work from corporate clients, until the bell rings…and he can run home to his writing.
Literature is very important to Tim, and his inspirations include Algernon Blackwood and J R R Tolkien – one a grandfather of the Weird Tale, the other the progenitor of Fantasy. In their prose he can get lost, and he tries, more than anything, to incorporate their sense of grandeur into his own works – lofty, but ‘noble’ ideals!
His mantra for those seeking success in writing is simple: “Persist, exercise imagination…and happiness follows.”

Blurb:
Sophie Grant made a promise to her friend. She will travel more and work less. She loves the comfort of her book store and has no desire what-so-ever to go on an adventure—not when she can read about them every day in a book.
But a promise is a promise.
After sticking a pin in a map she heads off to the Colorado Rockies.
High in the Colorado Rockies, world renowned photographer Jonas Hansen is healing from a personal loss. Will Sophie’s kind nature, love of photography, and beautiful smile make Jonas whole again?
Excerpt:
Sophie climbed the stairs and Jonas held the door open for her. He didn’t leave a lot of room to get by and she could feel his breath across her neck as their bodies brushed. He removed the pack from her shoulder after she stepped inside and one of the straps snapped.
“That’s a new backpack. I can’t believe that just happened.” At first, Sophie felt embarrassed, and then mad that her pack didn’t even last a day before something broke.
He laughed and pointed to a picnic-bench-style table. “Don’t worry. I can fix it. Have a seat. Would you like a cup of coffee?”
Sophie took a deep breath and replied, “I’d love a cup. Heavy on the cream please.” She sat and zipped her pocket before she removed her coat. Sophie didn’t want any of her precious feathers to float away.
“That’s how I drink my coffee, but I only have the powdered stuff. Is that all right?” Jonas asked as he laid her pack on the table.
“Sure. I’m not picky. I usually drink it out of my secondhand Mr. Coffee machine.” Sophie had a hard time keeping her eyes off of Jonas. He took off his jacket and his large shoulders pulled at the fabric of his shirt, emphasizing the muscles in his back and arms. Talk about being unprofessional. She needed to stop ogling his body. To distract herself, she looked around the building. The interior reminded Sophie of a miniature ski lodge, except hiking poles and backpacks hung on the walls instead of skis and goggles.
“Here you go. The coffee is hot, but not necessarily good.” His hand brushed hers as he pulled away.
“I’ll take it hot over good any day.” Too late, she realized how that might’ve sounded. The heat rose in her cheeks as she clarified, “I meant I like my coffee served hot.”
Bio:
Sharon Kleve was born and raised in Washington and currently lives on the Olympic Peninsula with her husband.

She gets no greater feeling than watching her characters come alive in each other’s arms. Most of all, she loves giving her characters the happily ever after they deserve—with a few bumps and bruises along the way.
One of her favorite things to do is picking up a new book and sinking into the story, immersing herself in the emotions between the characters. She hopes to inspire her readers the same way her favorite authors have inspired her.
When not writing, she can usually be found either curled up in her recliner with her cat and a good book, or in the kitchen baking sourdough bread or bagels.
